We had a resume workshop on Monday November 16th. It was a huge success.
We went over how to layout a resume so that there will be relevant sections for: Education, Extracurriculars, Work Experience, Special Skills and References. We talked about how to format the resume so everything is clear and all of your information will be at the top. When using bullet points (never use complete sentences) to describe your previous employment or your extracurriculars, you should use power verbs (which was a handout). We talked a lot about how to include relevant details of your previous programs or experiences that will help in getting employed.

Here’s the run down for the YEA Pillow Fight.
It will be a Thursday afternoon in January or February in the Gymnasium. We will be renting out the space to have a huge pillow fight from 3:30 to 5:00 that afternoon. We will be selling refreshments, YEA shirts, and pillow rentals (YEA Pillows, of course). This will be the funnest, most insane event ever. We need someone to begin planning this event ASAP.
Today in the club meeting (November 23rd), we did most of the planning with the entire club, so the work to plan this will be quite minimal. Anyone who is interested should email me at mrahman1122@gmail.com, but they will have to fill out a project manager form, which is simple and it help organizing the event for you and for the entire club. The form can be found here.
This will be epic. We will make a ton of money off of it, it will be fun and it will boost YEA’s great name throughout the entire school. We need to plan a photoshoot for the event a few weeks in advance so we can make posters for the ads. When asking to be a project manager, please include your ideas for when/where we should have the photoshoot.
Get excited and get new pajamas. It’s time to grab your pillows, your courage, and take a step into the final frontier: the Y.E.A. Pillow Fight.

Here is our plan for Winter Carnival.
Our game: Economic Gladiators
This entails two people battling using foam gladiator equipment and perhaps some headgear to fight for either Wall Street or Main Street. This will provide tons of fun for our own members to play and ton of fun for everyone to get in on. Also, it’s related to YEA and it’s so witty because of its social commentary.
Our food: Cheesecake, Cupcakes (Joanna’s), YEA Crepes (Nutella should read YEA on top of crepe), and maybe Fruit
The event will be December 11th and everyone is REQUIRED to come. We’re gonna have tons of fun.
And we’ll raise so much money for our pillow-fight idea. (Read next post)

Meetings every Monday. Always same time and same place.
Room 327 after 10th period. They’ll get really fun, really soon.
As for the competition, we made it to the state’s round. So we’ll be doing more brushing up on finance and stuff, and we’ll be getting money if we do well.
